$30,000 to be given away in community based projects in Macarthur
Each year Macarthur Credit Union supports local community groups. And from 2011 will increase funding and give away grants totalling $30,000. This money could be going to a variety of groups including sporting, social, disability, children, seniors, motorcycle and more.
GM David Cadden said: “Our community is very important to us and allocating some of our budget to help local community groups is what being in Macarthur is all about. We don’t just give the money and that’s it. We like to build a partnership with these groups and help them move forward too”.
Previously Macarthur Credit Union allocated funds to community groups as required but from 2011 the project will become a structured part of the credit union’s support of its local communities. Now community groups of all shapes and sizes will know of the project and will be able to apply.
Money will be allocated in $5,000 and $10,000 lots and will be payable later this year.
Applications close on September 30 this year.
