Information about the swine influenza
Human cases of a new form of influenza virus have been identified in the United States, Mexico, Canada and other countries. The virus is a type of influenza A virus that is usually seen in pigs "swine influenza".
The pandemic alert level has been raised by the World Health Organization from phase 4 to phase 5.
No cases of swine influenza have been confirmed in New South Wales or Australia.
