Macarthur Credit Union is turning 40!
|
On 12 November 2011 we celebrate 40 years. 40 years in the community and 40 years providing residents of Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly a special kind of banking where members really do matter. The Clutha miners started it all back in 1971 with a group of dedicated coal miners and truck drivers establishing the Clutha Employees Credit Union Ltd to service the 2,000 employees of the Clutha mines. In April 1978 membership extended to the local Macarthur community and the name of the credit union became the Macarthur Mutual Credit Union Ltd. Over the years the credit union continued to grow opening the branches in Picton (1979), Narellan (1990) and Tahmoor (1994). Then in January 1995 we become known as Macarthur Credit Union.
