1971

  • Clutha Employees Credit Union Limited registered 12th November 1971
  • First AGM held at Camden Bowling Club 8th November 1972
  • Credit Union renamed Macarthur Mutual Credit Union Limited 9th September 1978
  • Daylight Saving is introduced to NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, and the ACT.

1979

  • Registered office was 52 Argyle Street, Camden
  • Branch opened at Picton
  • Loan limit increased to $10,000
  • Credit Union’s own computer commissioned with passbook facilities
  • Cash withdrawals introduced

1980 - 1984

  • Large increases in Membership, Savings and Loans
  • Assets passed $4M
  • Loan limit increased to $30,000
  • Introduction of competitive housing loans
  • Installed Automatic Teller Machine

1994 - 1995

  • Credit Union renamed Macarthur Credit Union Limited 20th January 1995
  • Credit Union became liable for income tax
  • Member’s equity increased by 8.79% to $5.93M
  • Membership 9,529
  • New branch at Tahmoor
  • Clutha (the origin of the Credit Union) closed during the year and Credit Union was able to assist members affected by closure.

1996 - 1999

  • Membership 11,839
  • New computer system
  • Branches at Camden, Narellan, Picton and Tahmoor
  • Liberal John Howard becomes Prime Minister, defeating Paul Keating after a record 13 years of Labor government
  • The Goods & Services Tax Act (GST) was introduced by the federal government in 1999

2000 - 2007

  • New branch opened at Narellan
  • BPAY introduced
  • Internet banking commences
2003/2004
  • Assets reach $150M
  • Active membership 17,500
2006/2007
  • Retirement of Graham Holby as GM on 30th June 2007. Had been Company Secretary since 1976
  • Appointment of David Cadden as GM

2008 - 2009

  • September – major upgrade to banking system
  • A ‘new look’ – brand, staff uniforms and new website!
2009
  • eStatements introduced
  • Fee-free mortgages
  • Loan Redraw providing members 24/7 free access to redraw loans in advance

2010

  • Member Service Centre opened to assist with member enquiries: Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm
  • Community Grants program initiated to fund community based projects
  • New office in Oran Park to service existing and welcome in new suburbs with Mobile lending services

2011

  • Internet banking upgraded
  • Business Online Banking introduced
  • Internet Kiosk installed at Camden & Picton branches
  • Active membership 17,500
