Safety on the Net
We take your privacy and online security seriously, but to be completely protected online, you need to make sure you are doing your best to fend off the bad guys...
Here are a few things you should keep in mind
1. Don't be too trusting when it comes to email
- Don't give out your personal information
- Don't visit links provided in an email unless your are sure the sender is reputable
- Don't open attachments unless your are sure of the sender (viruses can make an email look like it has come from a friend)
2. Only access internet banking through our website
- Only login to Internet Banking by using the Internet Banking Login link on the top right of our web site . Don't use links from emails
- When on the internet banking site, look for the padlock in the top right or bottom of your browser or check that the web address starts with "https:/" to make sure the site is secure
- Always log out of your internet banking session when you are finished
- We recommend that you do not aces internet banking via public access computers (e.g. internet cafés, uni, libraries etc...)
3. Protect your passwords
- Passwords will only keep outsiders out if they are kept secret!
- Make sure your passwords are easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to guess
- Plus, it's a really good idea to change your passwords regularly (we recommend every 30 days)
4. Arm your computer with a Firewall plus Virus & Spyware protection
- Firewalls filter Internet traffic between your computer and the outside world, it either blocks or permits traffic to and from your computer
- Anti-virus software is designed to protect you and your computer against known viruses, worms and Trojans
- Spyware detection tools find and remove spyware from your computer
5. Keep your computer software up to date
- Software publishers will often release security upgrades to solve vulnerabilities that are discovered in their programs
- We use 128-bit technology in data encryption to protect your personal information. To take advantage of this feature ensure you are using the latest version of your Internet browser

6. Disable password auto complete settings on your internet browser
- AutoComplete functions remember your personal information and passwords.
- We recommend you consider disabling the auto password auto completion function on your internet browser
